At the start of 2019, I set four simple goals for myself. Though it hasn’t always been easy, I’m doing my best to get them done.
I’m super late on this but here’s my Mid-Year (ish) Checkup.
Reading Goals Checkup
Read 25 Books – 10 being physical copies
So far I’ve finished 15 books this year and according to Goodreads, I’m right on track for my goals. Only 3 out of those 15 were audiobooks, meaning I’ve kept my promise to read more physical books.
Read from more Latinx Authors
I’ve read both The Poet X and With the Fire on High (review coming this Friday) this year. Elizabeth Acevedo is definitely up there on my list of new favorite authors for 2019.
Blogging Goals Checkup
Blog consistently – at least 2x a week
I’ve done so much better this year than I could have ever imagined. Usually, I’ll stop blogging when school starts up again and I start feeling overwhelmed, but not this year.
This year, I pushed through and posted more than I’ve every posted before. There were a few consistent weeks where I had a post up every single day. I’m hoping to keep that same energy for the next few months.
Start a Bookstagram and stay active
I did start the Bookstagram and I’ve been (relatively) active. It has been a fun, creative outlet for me and I’m loving the support there. It was a great way to participate in the Reading Rush this year.
All in All
2019 has been a great year for both reading and blogging. I’ve expanded my literary palate and read more books with LGBTQ+, Muslim, Latinx, POC, and other underrepresented backgrounds. I’m looking forward to reading even more these next couple months.
