Trips to the Library

Last week I went to the library for the first time in a long time. I chose four books and I already finished one over the weekend. I’m hoping to get through the rest pretty soon. I’ve linked to the Goodreads synopsis for each of these, just click on the titles.

Ghost by Jason Reynolds

If you don’t already know, Jason Reynolds is one of my favorite authors. Seeing his name got me excited. This was a book I’d already heard about and I was pretty confident I’d like it. I finished it already, so my review is coming soon.

Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

I was supposed to read this book a few years ago for a reading competition, but I didn’t get around to it in time. With the movie getting raving reviews, I want to see what all the hype is about.

Tyler Johnson Was Here by Jay Coles

This book popped up on my Goodreads recommended and judging by the synopsis, it definitely sounds right up my alley. I’m really hoping to enjoy it.

Ten Things I Hate About Me by Randa Abdel-Fattah

I actually don’t know anything about this book, besides the synopsis. It looked interesting and I like the cultural representation, so I decided to give it a chance. The last book I read with a Muslim main character was Persepolis, and I’m excited to see how the author addresses these issues of culture clash in YA fiction.

Have you read any of these books?

What were your thoughts?

What are you currently reading?

  5. […] The fact that I haven’t read this book by now is honestly kind of strange. But, it seems quite fitting that I’m reading it during Pride Month. The last book I read with an LGBTQ+ main character was The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue and I loved it. Simon Vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda was the second book I picked up during last month’s trip to the library. […]
