Library Books Wrap-Up

During my trip to the library last month, I picked up four books. It was a great way to get back into the swing of reading regularly. The books on my shelf just haven’t been interesting to me lately. Here’s what I thought about my library books. Click the titles for full reviews.

Ghost by Jason Reynolds

I enjoyed Ghost a ton. I feel like it was a great story, super well written. It’s moving and even though I didn’t always agree with Castle, I understood his actions. I understood his motivations.

Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

I liked this one a whole lot too. I feel like it’s one a lot of people can relate too. Great representation of the coming out experience.

Tyler Johnson Was Here by Jay Coles

I was not a fan of this one by far. I posted a mini rant about it earlier this week, so be sure to check that out if you want the full details. Overall, this book just felt super unrealistic and it was a hot mess.

Ten Things I Hate About Me by Randa Abdel-Fattah

I feel like this was a book my middle school self would have loved. It falls in that category of contemporaries I was obsessed with when I was twelve. My current self just isn’t into that kind of writing anymore.

Have you read any of these books?

What were your thoughts?

What should I pick up on my next trip to the library?

Let me know in the comments, let’s chat!

I love libraries for this exact reason: I always seem to want the books I don’t have, and getting them all would lead me to bankruptcy xD Thank God for libraries ❤ My wallet appreciates them.
I haven't read any of these yet and didn't even know some of them existed, but I'm glad you enjoyed at least half of your haul 🙂
    Great post, Rae!

I feel the same way! Libraries have saved me the embarrassment of being out of the loop and they’ve helped me stay on budget. I’m happy I got to get a few more books on your radar 🙂
