Trips to the Library (Take Two)

Last month’s trip to the library was so relaxing, I love looking through all those shelves of books. It’s also less stress on my wallet and the library is literally down the road from my house. So, I decided to get a new stack of four for this month. Here’s to happy reading!

Piecing Me Together by Renee Watson

OBOB events page | Cedar Mill Community Library

If you’ve been keeping up with this blog for a while, you’ve probably heard me mention This Side of Home by Renee Watson more than a few times. It was one of my favorite reads of 2017 and I’ve been meaning to pick this one up ever since. I love Renee Watson’s writing style and her characters are so real. I’ve already finished this one, I devoured it the first few days, so the review is coming soon.

The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli

12 Best New YA Books of 2017 | Teen Vogue

Last month I picked up Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda. I’ve been hearing about Becky Albertalli’s work for years now but that was the first book I’d read by her. I follow her on social media and decided this would be a good next read since I didn’t see Leah on the Offbeat.

Love, Hate and Other Filters by Samira Ahmed

Exclusive Cover Reveal: Samira Ahmed's Love, Hate & Other ...

This is one of those books that was super popular in the blogging community when it first came out but I never got around to reading it. I saw it poking out on the shelves and thought now’s as good a time as any.

Watch Us Rise by Renee Watson and Ellen Hagan

Watch Us Rise: Renée Watson: Bloomsbury YA

I wasn’t planning on getting this but I saw Renee Watson’s name and read the synopsis. It seems like a feminist manifesto type book and I wanted to give it a chance, even if it isn’t my usual YA fiction.
