WWW Wednesday (#17)

Hey y’all! So I’ve been pretty behind on posting but I felt like I kind of had to do this one. Like, it’s just too easy not to and I really want to update y’all on what I’ve been reading.

WWW Wednesday is a meme that was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and revived by Sam of Taking on a World of Words. All you’ve got to do is answer these three questions.

What are you currently reading?

Charming as a Verb by Ben Philippe

Y’all know I can’t stick to a TBR but do you see this??? My most anticipated book of the YEAR is now in my hands! Casey (a fellow Bookstagrammer) sent me her ARC and it made my heart nearly burst with joy. Like, I still feel so many emotions every time I look at it kind of joy.

Not So Pure and Simple by Lamar Giles

Belle’s video was the perfect push for me to actually start this one. It’s been on my TBR all year and I knew I wanted to read it but I just didn’t actually start it, until this week. I’m listening to the audiobook on the CloudLibrary app and I am LOVING it. Like, why did I not start this sooner? I’m mad at myself for not starting sooner.

What did you recently finish reading?

I’ve been reading a lot of different stuff lately and I honestly can’t remember it all but here are some highlights.

The Field Guide to the North American Teenager by Ben Philippe

I was actually still listening to the audiobook when I received Charming as a Verb, so you know I had to tie up those loose ends. I absolutely love how this story ended. That last quarter was just *chef’s kiss*

Early Departures by Justin A. Reynolds

I already posted my review for this amazing novel. It was officially released yesterday so if you haven’t gotten a copy (or requested it from your library) then I think it’s about time we have a discussion. I really just want everyone to read this so we can cry together.

Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare

Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare

I read this for my Shakespeare class and honestly, I was lost the whole time. It just… wasn’t interesting to me. It’s supposed to be a comedy but I didn’t laugh once.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Last week I said Grown would be my next read and now my beautiful preorder is sitting on my shelf, just looking pretty. Honestly, I have so many books I need to read in the next two weeks and I am internally screaming.

But on that note, there is one book I’ll be starting today for my Major World Writers Class. It look pretty interesting.

On Beauty by Zadie Smith

I don’t even know what this is about but our professor seems to really like it. All I know is that it’s pretty and by a Black woman so, need I know more?

How has your week been?

Are you in school? How is it going for you?

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed?

Let me know in the comments below, let’s chat!

Zadie Smith is an amazing writer, I hope you end up liking On Beauty! My first experience with her was reading “NW” my senior year of college, and it really threw me for a loop. Hope you enjoy 🙂

Our professor speaks really highly of her and I’ve only read the first fifty or so pages but I’m really enjoying it ☺️

I started my PhD and I find it soooo hard to read after work, so I understand that you’re feeling stressed about having to read so many books! you’re going to do great though I’m sure ❤

Thank you, it can be so hard to balance it all, especially as the semester goes on. I hope your PhD studies go well! What is your area of study?
