Let’s Catch Up (#37)

Hey y’all! Whenever the semester starts getting heavy I always end up slacking on my blog posts and this one is proving no different. I’m really sorry I haven’t been super active here but I want all of you to know you still have my heart.

Okay, enough of me being sappy. Go on, grab a warm drink and cozy blanket, then take a seat so we can catch up!

Life Update

Yup, school is definitely schooling me. I’m so tired. All of my classes are interesting, they’re just super tiring. I’ve already done an essay and all these discussion boards are draining. My school has cancelled Spring Break this year because of Covid and I honestly don’t know how to feel about it. It’s not like I was planning to travel or anything, but I am disappointed that I won’t have that week off to relax.

I’ve started the querying process for my middle grade manuscript. I’m really excited but also terrified so I’m gonna need all the good vibes. I’m currently leaning toward the more excited side and I’ve been working on the book for several months now so I do feel pretty good about it. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

I’m caught up on WandaVision and I won’t give away any spoilers but I think Episode 4 put a lot more stuff in context and I’m excited to see where the show goes next. I have several predictions and no one to share them with so if you’re watching WandaVision, let me know.

Blogging Update

Instagram is going really well right now. I’ve been posting some of my Tik Toks there and they’ve done really well. A lot of the videos actually end up doing better on Instagram than Tik Tok. My views have been down on Tik Tok again but at this point I’m not even taking it seriously. I’m way too busy worrying about school right now.

Here’s the obligatory plug for my bookstagram:

What Did I Miss?

Guess I spoke too soon last week. We’re back to just a single post this week but one I’m pretty proud of.

22 Books by BIPOC Coming Out in February 2021 ~ Rae's Reads and Reviews

As you can see, I posted 22 books by BIPOC that are coming out this February. This post took me quite a bit of time to put together but I honestly think it was worth it. I really like helping people discover these new releases and the accompanying Instagram post did really really well which makes me so happy.

My Latest YouTube Obsession

I don’t know if I’ve mentioned it here before but I really like watching Alexa Donne’s videos on YouTube. She’s a published author who makes videos with advice for aspiring authors and I really enjoy them. Her videos have helped me so much throughout this process and I just keep going further and further down the rabbit hole of her content. I’m literally watching one of her videos as I write this.

How was your week? What are you looking forward to? What do you like to do when you’re feeling drained? Let me know in the comments below, let’s chat!

I can only imagine how tiring school is these days, even when the classes are interesting. Hoping you get through it, even without a break … which, you should have still gotten in my opinion. We all need breaks.

But YAY for querying for your MG novel! I wish you the best of luck!!

Thank you! I hope my professors end up chilling out later in the semester because it’s already so much work and I need a nap lol
